My dad got me an original iPad for my birthday at BB and went to return it last Monday and told them he was gonna get the new one at an Apple Store so they went in the back and said they have a few iPad 2s and got a 32gb AT&T one. Was yesterday supposed to be the first day BB was selling the 2?
When you want to do a return and get new one elsewhere, all of a sudden, they "have them..."

hey - heres an idea Apple - rather than enter the world of gimmicks and toys, why dont you spend a little more time sorting out your pathetically expensive and crap server line up?
or are you really aiming to become a glorified consumer gimmicks firm?
uhhh, yes!

I can see many benefits to develop from this. Maybe not on an iMac, but a larger iPad with iMac or Mac Pro power from a designing stand point.
Yes, keep the use of a mouse and/or keyboard for the comfort side of things. But when it comes to intricate design, a mouse is just a pain to use. A Wacom tablet has been around a while and some still use it, but you're pretty much drawing blind folded. If you could use a type of stylus or a finger and draw/edit directly on the screen that would make detail work sooooo much easier and faster.
I think this is a good direction. Who says the iMac will still be a desktop monitor/computer? It could be like the iPad maybe with a popout easel for use as a freestanding monitor (maybe not as cheesy as that, but you get the picture), while still keeping your "all in one" desktop component.
I wonder if part of the problem is that the price of a touch screen that is sensitive enough for drawing application is to high a price and not needed in mass market device.
I kind of wonder if there could be an accessory Stylus that has it's own tracking system so that plays off the touch screen sensor to establish start end end location but feeds the system far more detailed drawing information from it's own measurements including maybe till and pressure.
That way only applications that need the extra function have to pay for it.

Wait, Sony? Not known for providing sensors to other companies? Are you guys joking?
Nikon, Pentax, Olympus, Sigma, Casio and a whole lot more uses Sony sensors..
Those are CCD sensors not CMOS image sensors.

:D Keith, how do you like it. Is there a major difference between that set and the mono set. I am curious because I have been eyeing that purchase.
I assume that you have the Mono set. If so, you have the better one (other than missing Abbey Road and Let It Be. As has been said many times they are better mixes and the differences are fairly significant in places. Due to the differences, it's easier to argue that you need the both.
I like the Mono set packaging, with the replica sleeves, but the stereo set packaging is also very good with better sleeve notes and the mini documentaries. The box set comes with all the documentaries on one DVD which is better than watching them individually on the CD's

Toys R' Us? I though they only sold video games and...toys!?
I have an almost 9 month old boy. He was using the iPad to play games by 6 months of age. The iPad *IS* one of his favorite toys and with it's education and entertainment potential, is certainly a good investment. I need to go because he's about to attack my keyboard. I'll give him the iPad to play with :)

I think I got off on a tangent, 'cause to be honest if I had the means I'd probably own one too. Sorry for being a hypocrite.
It's just at 19 I'm limited as to what I can afford, so a scooter seemed like a good investment to save money while I go to school.

I believe Apple did go with a larger sensor in the iPhone 4.
They kept the same pixel size as from before, but made the sensor larger to increase the number of pixels. It's also uses backlit illumination, per Steve Jobs.

Why is he blaming it on us? Its "ultimate"ly his decision to use and post what information was given to him. He's the one that needs to decipher between good and bad tips. Not to just take anything anyone says as fact and then publish on his website.
I completely agree, but it seems as though he thought it truthful, or wanted to drum up more traffic to his site. Either way, it's not our fault he posted a fake tip, but rather, his and those who sent him the tips. However, to break the TOS here, then begin to discuss it, is a ban-worthy event.
Edit
Interesting. It seems as though the Mac Pro rumors are still considered legitimate, as 9to5 hasn't issued a retraction of those.

Isn't the internal wireless device made by Intel? It's not sure Apple and Intel needs the help from Atheros to get drivers for that.
But even what the article says, I don't see why the demo would use a 3rd party wireless card if they could just as well have attacked the built in Airport.
Sorry to ask such basic questions, but I can't get the video to play through our firewall... Do they explicitly show an external WiFi card plugged into the slot?

point being, unless I see some hard evidence that really shows this exploit is viable, I'm calling BS.

You may have Windows 7 on your desktop but I doubt if you've ever used it properly. Now I've been a Mac user for a long time and I own an iMac and an MBP but let me tell you this, Windows 7 is definitely much better than Vista.
I really don't want to compare Windows to OSX but after using both Vista and 7, I am very confident when I say that Microsoft has really done a good job with Windows 7. Vista was a disaster though....
Please, elaborate on how one he would have "used it properly" in reference to an OS.
It's an OS. It should get the hell out of your way and let you worry about actually *doing* stuff with your computer. About the best thing I can say about Windows 7 is that it doesn't require me to care about it in the least, so in that, it's a success, although I still far prefer OS X.

I did phone in and after a mere 30 minutes on hold, spoke w/ a rather angry man (who is actually an iPod tech who got called over to handle this battery business) and he said my battery falls within the recall range, but to just re-try the website later.
I tried, and the web-app is still telling me I have an invalid battery. Argh.

I totally agree. However, the 4.x was sold as a viable update to my phone, and my older iPod Touch was upgraded automatically. Had I known it would have rendered them quite useless, I would have not agreed to the upgrade. Also, there is no way (that I can tell) to downgrade to a previous IOS (I'm not overly geeky). I am not asking for on-going support, rather that the phone that I paid for works for its lifetime. It is Apple's fault for not providing a reasonable explanation of what the consequences would be or providing an alternative to that IOS.
I agree that they should not deliver an update that makes older phones nearly unusable. There is not much point to doing this. My alternative to this would be that Apple cuts off the older phones from support and updates sooner than they currently do if the hardware can't handle it. The 3G was almost outdated as soon as it shipped, since the software and hardware didn't match up very well.
I think the key point of contention is, what does "for it's lifetime" mean? For a MacBook, it is several years. But for a phone, it is much shorter. I still have an old Nokia 6120 that I bought in 1999, and it still is "alive". But I don't expect Nokia to keep issuing updates for it. Of course if they did, I would hope that it didn't completely kill the phone off.
As for downgrading your OS, I am not a hacker or jailbreaker, but I am fairly sure that if you dive into it a bit you can find a way to downgrade to an earlier and more useful iOS.

All this moral discussion about stealing a 1500,- bucks suite of software is pretty ridiculous if you put it into a relation to the billions of dollars/euros stolen from our tax money by the private central banks.
If a corporation steals billions that's ok, but if someone pirates a single piece of software that's theft.
The same rules should apply to everyone.
Btw, I have only legit software on my computer.
my point exactly...
I really don't get all the wankers here with all there high morals about downloading is steeling. It aint steeling, and if it was i wouldn't feel one single bit of guilt...i'm getting robed here everyday by the government, at work, hell i'm even getting robed buying grocery's...why should i be the idiot paying for something i can get for free...and don't start the "people are losing their jobs if you don't buy it" if they do than they should get in line. Here's an idea... maybe the CEO's could spare a few of their billions to help the staff out and make them keep their job...

imagine let's say that wal mat due to this apple deal with all studios will make a statemnet saying we lost 10% or our revenues so we will lay off 10% of our employess to cover for the losses.!!
now what do you do in this case?
it's not a free world after all....
Wal*Mart losing 10% of their revenue would still leave them a VERY profitable company... and firing that many employees would probably cause them to close some stores... which would result in further loss of profit.
If Wal*Mart lost 10% of their revenue by movie purchases alone, they would have to concentrate harder on other things.
Something else confuses me though...
Wal*Mart caters to the lower income families... who likely don't have high-speed internet and are, thus, EXTREMELY unlikely to purchace movies from the iTS, lest they want to be downloading for 3 days straight. Those people will go to the local Wal*Mart and buy the same movie from the $5.50 bargain bin. Sleazy customers are happy; Wal*Mart is happy. What do they have to be complaining about?
Man, I love that bin. I've found so many awesome movies in there.......... like Total Recall. Okay, so maybe not THAT awesome.
